International Conference 'Digitalization and Innovation: new compentences in the financial vocational education'

The annual international conference of the Institute of Financial Studies proposes a common ground to debate the impact of international legal provisions on the national markets and also an exchange of ideas for the active players on the financial markets.

2018 is the FinTech year and also the implementation year of numerous European regulations such as MiFID II, IDD, AML - all having a significant effect on the financial markets - from the IT solutions used in the sales process to the customer relationship management department in order to strive for a higher protection of the end user of financial services. All these modifications bring about changes also in the professional development of the employees in this field.

The Institute of Financial Studies organizes on 15th of November 2018, at hotel JW Marriott Bucharest Grand, starting with 9:00 a.m., Constanța Hall, the fourth edition of International Conference " Digitalization and Innovation: new compentences in the financial vocational education”.

Leonardo BADEA President Financial Supervisory Authority	Mr. Leonardo Badea is the President of Financial Supervisory Authority from June 2017. With nearly 20 years of experience on the field of economic university education, Mr. Badea was the Vice-rector at Valahia University from Targoviste, and Dean at Faculty of Economics of the same educational institution.He obtained consecutively a Senate and Deputy mandate in The Romanian Parliament, occupying the positions of Secretary of the Budget-Finance, banking activity and capital markets Commission from Senate, and President of Budget-Finance Commission from the Chamber of Deputies. Mr. Leonardo Badea is doctor in accounting at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and graduate of the post-doctoral school in economics of the Romanian Academy. At the same time, he is a member of the European International Business Academy (EIBA) and a member of the Centre D’etudes sur le Développement International et les Mouvements Economiques et Sociaux (CEDIMES). Mr. Badea has a sustained activity in editorial and scientific councils of economic publications, being editor of the “Scientific Council of the Journal of Accounting, Finance Add Auditing Studies” in Turkey, editor of the “Valahia Journal of Economics Studies”, CNCSIS B + and member of the editorial board of "Theoretical and Applied Economics", CNCSIS B +.
Cristian ROSU Vice-President Sector Reinsurance Financial Supervisory Authority	Mr. Cristian Rosu has an experience for over 17 years in the financial market, a career he has mainly formed in the banking system where he held top management positions. From May 2016 he held the position of General Manager of the Guarantee Fund for the Insured. Between February 2016 and April 2016, he was the Director of the Resolution Division under the Guarantee Fund for the Insured. In this position he coordinated the resolution process on Carpatica Asig SA, assuring the fulfillment of the legal attributions for assessing the financial position of the insurer as a result of a rapid deterioration of the financial situation, and from May 2016 he became the General Manager of the Guarantee Fund for the Insured.
Attila GYORGY Secretary of State Ministry of Public Finance Romania	Mr. Attila Gyorgy is Secretary of State at the Ministry of Public Finance in Romania since April 2014. He is currently responsible for coordinating the International Financial Relations Department, the Certifying and Paying Authority, and the Relationship Department with the Parliament, trade unions and employers in the Ministry. As coordinator of the International Financial Relations Department, Mr. Gyorgy manages the institutional relationship between MFP and the NBR, respectively ASF. Mr. Gyorgy is also a teacher at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, where his field of study covers public finances and budgets.
Calin RANGU President Institute of Financial Studies	Mr. Calin Rangu is double-licensed, PhD in neural networks applied in the financial series, MBA graduate, university lecturer, scientific researcher, ASF director of the Directorate of Supervision, Intermediate Control and Conduct Rules, President of the Institute of Financial Studies, Vice-Chairman of the ITF Committee of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), member of the Consumer Protection and Financial Innovation Committee of EIOPA, member of the EFICERT Board (European Financial certification Organisation), coordinator of the InsurTech HUB of ASF. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial-banking field, over 15 years of private sector management (Raiffeisen Bank, Raiffeisen Informatik Austria), in BNR, IBR and ASF. He published more than 150 articles, and two books, being an organizer or speaker at major Romanian Conferences related to consumer protection and rules of conduct, financial-banking, information systems, technologies and financial innovations, operational risk management, cyber security, alternative dispute resolution, etc.
Dragoş Valentin NEACȘU Președinte/ Director General Executiv Erste Asset Management	Mr. Drgoș Neacşu has over 20 years experience in the Romanian and international financial market: CEO SNCDD, CEO of Raiffeisen Capital & Investment, member of the Bucharest Stock Exchange Committee, State Secretary in the Ministry of Public Finance, Representative of Romania in various international financial institutions, member of the Strategic partnership negotiation team with the World Bank, negotiator of the Iraq Debt Recovery agreement, promoter of the legislative package on funds Mortgage and the introduction of privately administered pensions; Chairman of the Association of Romanian Funds Managers (AAF) from April 2011 until the end of 2015; Member of the Romanian Banking Analysts Association (AAFBR); Founder of the Association for privately administered pensions in Romania (APAPR); Graduated from the first generation of the Canadian MBA program, based on the partnership between Quebec University of Montreal and ASE Bucharest and the Faculty of installations at the Technical University for Constructions Bucharest.
Adrian MARIN President National Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies in Romania	Mr. Adrian Marin has an experience, for over 20 years, in insurance, the career he has formed in Generali Romania, where he held various functions, from senior underwriter to head of office or department director and then top management positions. Since September 2011 he is the General Manager of the General Romania, a position he is currently occupying. In the period 2010 – October 2016 he was a member of the Executive Board of the National Union of Insurers and Reinsurers in Romania (UNSAR), where he was actively involved in supporting projects initiated at Union level, and from October 2016 he was elected President UNSAR. Between 2013 – 2014 he was also a member of the Insurance Europe Strategic Committee.
Iulian STAN Executive Vice President The Financial Investment Society Transilvania S.A.	Mr. Iulian Stan is Executive Vice President of Financial Investment Company SIF Transilvania S.A. Brasov. He has been working in the capital market for more than 25 years, has economic and technical training as well as various international specializations, doctoral specialization in the field of trading of company shares. He is also an expert evaluator - member of the National Association of Evaluators of Romania (ANEVAR), financial auditor - member of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania (CAFR), expert accountant - member of the body of accounting experts and of authorized accountants from Romania (CECCAR). With practical experience in managing the portfolio and investment S.I.F. Transilvania, being involved in direct administration of the various companies, was chairman of the Board of Directors of the Depositary Sibex, administrator of the Sibex and Vice-President of the National Association of Securities Companies in Romania, as well as the President of the Brasov Territorial centre of ANEVAR. He has a university didactic experience and is an author of various publications/scientific communications in the economic field. Vocational training and practical experience allowed him to approach and address systemic and interdisciplinary topics addressed. In recent years has actively contributed to debates and the formation of opinions on strategies for sustainable development of financial investment companies, the development of business models at portfolio level, conceptualizing the systemic functioning of Of the financial education process, the prospects of the Romanian capital market. The values constantly promoted by it are: performance, ethics and innovation.
Florentina BOBOC Director of Regulatory Authorization Financial Supervisory Authority	Mrs. Florentina Boboc has a 20 years experience in the capital market, coordinating, from the positions held during the 16 years of her career, the activity of authorizing, certifying and registering the regulated entities both within CNVM and during the last years in the ASF, from position of Deputy Director of the Regulatory Authorization Supervision Division. She was involved as a consultant to the working groups of the European institutions in the process of transposing European financial market directives into national legislation. She graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies, the Faculty of Finance Insurance Banks and Stock Exchanges
Alexandra SMEDOIU Fiscal Services Partner Deloitte	Mrs. Alexandra Smedoiu is Tax Consultant Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers and has an experience of over 12 years in taxation. Alexandra is member of Board of Directors of CFA Society Romania, a NGO society that brings together top professionals from Romanian financial industry. Alexandra is licensed Chartered Financial Analyst, member of ACCA, holding Diploma in International Financial Reporting. Also, Alexandra is tax adviser according to the law and member of The Chamber of Tax Consultants, and also member of Charted Institute of Taxation, holding Diploma in Advanced International Taxation. Alexandra has graduated International Business and Economics at Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and holds a Master in International Project Management.
Mihaela CÎRCU Project Manager Insurance Promotion Association (APPA)	Mrs. Mihaela CÎRCU is Project Manager at APPA - Insurance Promotion Association – the ONG that has developed the first national consumer information and education campaigns – also she is the Development Director of XPRIMM, a Romanian company specialized in the insurance industry in CEE and EEA. Mihaela has a 14 years experience in private insurance and pensions in Central and Eastern Europe. Graduate of Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, Mihaela is also licensed CII - Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK.
Dorel DUTA President National Union of Companies of Mediation and Insurance Consultancy in Romania	Mr. Dorel Duță was elected President of UNSICAR in Decmbrie 2017, he is the representative of the non-banking financial market in the coordinating College of the Alternative Dispute Resolution entity SAL-FIN. He has a rich experience in the insurance industry, for over 22 years. He graduate the Faculty of Law, holds a management certificate obtained at the Open University Business School and has a series of specialization courses in the insurance field. Since 2000, Dorel Duta has become an associate and director of the Hobbit Insurance Broker, a company specializing in the corporate area.
Viorel VASILE President - PRBAR CEO - Safety Broker	Mr. Viorrel Vasile has an experience of over 19 years in insurance field. During 7 years he worked as General Manager of the company Forum Insurance. In 2005 we founded the insurance company Safety Broker, today leader on Romanian brokerage market, as CEO from over 12 years. Starting with 2017 he is Founder Member and President of the first Patronate of Romanian Insurance Reinsurance Broker (PRBAR). In 1999 he graduated the Faculty of Finances, Insurance, Banks and Stock Exchange, at Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, Finance – Insurance department.
Julien AREVALO Senior Expert on Financial Innovation EIOPA	Mr. Julian Arevalo is currently working at the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) as Expert on Financial innovation, where he deals with issues such as the use of Big Data by insurance undertakings or licensing requirements and regulatory obstacles to InsurTech. Julian is a qualified lawyer and economist and has professional experience both in the private sector and in public institutions such as the European Commission and EIOPA. He can fluently communicate in three different languages: Spanish, English and French.
Vesna KRANJCEC-SANG Senior Expert German Insurance Association	Mrs. Kranjcec-Sang is presently working for the Educational Association of the German Insurance Industry. Her projects and researches focus on the educational issues relevant for the insurance industry, such as the impact of the digitalisation on the future job and degree demands. She has a degree in educational sciences and business administration (MBA). For the last 20 years she has been managing projects in public and private educational organisations, for the last ten years with the focus on the insurance and financial sector.
Wolfgang ROTH German Insurance Association	Mr. Wolfgang Roth is presently working for the Educational Association of the German Insurance Industry. His projects focus on the educational issues relevant for the insurance industry, such as the impact of the digitalisation on the future job and degree demands. Wolfgang Roth works in the insurance sector for over 10 years in different positions.
Martin WURZENBERGER Head of Retail Sales & Sales Support CEE Erste Asset Management	Mr. Dr. Martin Wurzenberger is the Head of Retail Sales & Sales Support CEE of Erste Asset Management, the asset management company of Erste Group. For almost 20 years he has been active in the financial industry. He joined Erste Group in 2013 and is responsible for the retail sales of investment funds in CEE. Before his current position he worked in the CEE Retail Division of UniCredit Group as Segment and Product Manager and as Risk Manager in Bank Austria-Creditanstalt Bank AG. He holds a master´s degree in Economics and Management from the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna and received his doctorate from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
Maria WEIR Vice President Areopa	Mrs. Maria Weir is the Vice President Applied Research and Innovation at Areopa a company which licenses management knowledge and solutions in the field of Intellectual Capital and Intellectual Property. Maria has over 20 years’ experience of providing extensive analysis of Intellectual Capital and IPR portfolios including support in patent mining, patent applications, trade secret development, trademark and other IPR. At present she is on behalf of Areopa the key advisor and support person to a Venture Capital Firm carrying out Valuations of IC and IPR of Innovative companies. She is also the author of various papers in peer-reviewed journals in the field of managing IC and IP in KIBS firms, renewable energy firms and in public policy in the management of IC.
Michael BRANDSTETTER Manager of EU and International Affairs Austrian Insurance Association (VVO)	Mr. Michael Brandstetter is Manager of EU and International Affairs at the Austrian Insurance Association (VVO) based in Vienna. He is responsible for VVO’s relations with the insurance markets in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (CESEE). He joined the VVO in 2014. Before joining the VVO Michael was from 2008 until 2014 advisor at the EU-office of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) at the Austrian Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels and responsible for financial services, trade policy, tax policy and foreign trade promotion. In his previous positions he was member of the founder team of the start-up company Lightglass and advisor at the Ministry of European and International Affairs of Austria in the context of the Austrian EU presidency. Michael was born in 1978 and has Austrian nationality. He holds a master degree in International Economic and Business Studies and a master degree in Political Science of the University of Innsbruck. During his studies he had spent a study year at the International Management School IECS in Strasbourg, France. He holds a postgraduate Diploma of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.
Mihai PURCAREA General Manager BRD Asset Management	Mr. Mihai Purcarea, is General Manager of BRD Asset Management, one of the main managers of investment funds in Romania. The company manages seven open investment funds with assets of 2, 8mld RON attracted both from individuals and from legal entities. Before taking over the current position, he occupied the position of investment director in Erste Asset Management. Mihai is a member of the board of Directors of the CFA Romania Association and the Association of fund managers in Romania.
Cees WERFF President and CEO CCN Claims Corporation Network	Mr. Werff is the Global insurance executive with a track record of designing and executing strategy, driving change and innovation and delivering top and bottom line results. Founder-President-CEO of Claims Corporation Network B.V. Previously advised InterEurope AG through a MBO phase, designing a business development culture, expanding operations to CEE region and a diversification of products and services. Previously led VAI through the redesign of a multi-line TPA service provider, creating a culture of compliance, product diversification and improving client relationship management. Prior managed ING Global Network through development and implementation of a network strategy business model and consolidation of previously separate subsidiaries and sales forces. Strengths include P&L management, risk management, merger execution, strategic leadership, sales management, public and government relations and media affairs.

Mihai NEACȘU Coordinating Lawyer Neacşu & Associates – a Society of Lawyers	Mr. Mihai Neacşu is coordinating lawyer of Neacşu & Associates – a society of lawyers. Graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Law of the University of Bucharest, Mihai is a lawyer with an experience of more than 15 years, gained in particular in disputes between professionals, also offering advice including in the fields of insurance and brokerage Insurance. Passionate about statistics and legal risk management, developed within Neacşu & Associates an innovative business process management system based on Lean Six Sigma strategies and transposed into an own web application, available to company customers, ensure their control and unlimited access to information related to cases in court and their works.
Ion STANCU General Manager Institute of Financial Studies	Mr. Ion Stancu is an University Professor on Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, Finance Department, Master Manager ”Financial Management and Investments” and PhD supervisor with expertise in the following areas: Financial analyze and planning, Evaluation and financing the investments projects, Capital markets and portfolio management. In this regard, Mr. Stancu recommends for consulting the following papers:”FINANCES. Financial markets and portfolio management. Direct investments and theirs’s financing. Financial analyze and management of the enterprise” (2007), ”Corporate Finances in Excel” (2012), and also “Corporate Finances 1st vol., Financial analyze and planning of the enterprises” (2015). Mr. Stancu has a vast experience in financial higher educational reforming programs (license, master, phd.) and international university cooperation as dean of Finance, Insurance, Banks and Stock Exchange Faculty (1993-2004) and as vice-rector of Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies (2004-2016). As manager and member in research projects has analyzed the impact of arrears, financial crimes, environment protection, durable development, social responsibilities, etc. on companies’ performances and economic growth. Starting with 2003 acts as administrator of SIF Banat -Crisana and Romanian Bank. From 1993 is CECCAR member and from 2000 is CAFR member.
